Photos: Relay For Life Kicks Off at Concord High

Awareness advocates and cancer survivors urge locals to join Relay for Life Saturday and Sunday at Concord High.

The American Cancer Society's annual Relay for Life event kicked off Saturday morning at Concord High School, and it's not too late to support the battle against cancer.

Organizers urge local residents to show up and participate any time over the weekend.

A ceremony will take place Saturday at 9 p.m. on the bleachers of the Concord High football field, where the words "hope" and "cure" will be spelled out with luminaria bags. You can purchase and decorate these candle-lit bags in memory of a cancer victim at the event.
