Where to Watch 'The Hobbit' in Theaters

Bilbo is off on his adventures! Will you be joining the hobbit and his crew of dwarves? Here's which theaters are screening the movie in Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and Orinda.

Three-quarters of a century after the book was first published in 1937, J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" is coming to the silver screen.

The movie, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," is the first installment of a three-part series directed by Peter Jackson. "The Desolation of Smaug" will be coming in 2013 with "There and Back Again" released the year after.

Fans of the Middle-Earth-based fantasy began the journey at midnight on Thursday, Dec. 13 and will no doubt be traversing all weekend. Here's where you can join the crew as they set off to fight a dragon and retrieve a horde of gold.
