'Footloose' and Fancy Free at YVHS

High school is presenting the rollicking musical based on the 1984 movie.

The performing arts students at are gearing up up for this week's performances of Footloose, the Musical!

The fun-filled show—based on the 1984 movie that starred Kevin Bacon and was full of rollicking song and dance numbers—is being performed Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. in the school's multi-use room.

"The cast, freshmen to seniors, have worked since January to present a fun-filled show for people of all ages," says director Tracey Garber. "I am so lucky to be working with this talented group of kids."

Tickets are available at the door and are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Thursday is alumni night— all alumni get in for $5.

In addition, s Production Workshop this weekend features its annual showcase of one-act plays, Quintessentials! They were written and produced by students. The performances will be Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Jack De Rieux Little Theatre at Northgate. Tickets are 6$ in advance and $8 at the door.
