Ygnacio Valley Library Artist Reception April 5, 2011 Eric James Leffler 6:30pm-7:45pm

With as much passion for local and world travel photography as he has for portraiture and lifestyle work, Eric James Leffler's art includes a little of everything.  Exhibiting for the first time, his work on display includes scenic images from his Cities and Landscapes series, including pictures of the Mt. Diablo region, San Francisco, and a recent road trip across the southwest to Zion, Bryce, Moab and the Grand Canyon.

Eric's interest for photography began about 12 years ago, when his uncle handed down his old 35mm Minolta X-700 and a few lenses.  He took the kit to Australia where he lived for a year after college and self-taught himself the mechanics of photography.   "I remember being so anxious to see the prints," he recalls,  "I would pay triple the cost to have the film developed at 1-hour photo places. I knew then that I was hooked."

Eric, a 34 year old Bay Area native, has since entered the digital world and has been utilizing creative tools like HDR to push his artistic visions.  Under the brand of Eric James Photography, his eye and talent for photography continue to expand each year.   His diverse portfolio also includes Commercial as well as Beauty and Fashion work.  "Little did I know my passion for photography would lead me down the road of Beauty and Fashion, but surprisingly, it's become as popular as my other work."

Eric's art will be on display at the Ygnacio Valley Library in Walnut Creek, April 1 - May 2.  He will be hosting an open-house reception on Tuesday, April 5th between 6:30-8:00pm with snacks being offered.  You can view his work at www.ericjamesphoto.com, and can follow him on Facebook, including his current  365 Day Project, at www.facebook.com/ericjamesphoto .
