UPDATE: Cowboy Up and Get a Whooping Cough Booster

Contra Costa Health launches clinic at Thursday evening's Todos Santos Plaza gathering.

Let’s see. Your Thursday checklist looks like this:

  • Buy some okra.
  • Hear some cowboy music.
  • Get your whooping cough booster.

Check, check and check — all available at Todos Santos Plaza in downtown Concord.

Thursday afternoon was the debut for a clinic by Contra Costa Health Services at the plaza offering free Tdap (whooping cough booster) to help seventh- through 12th-graders meet a new school immunization requirement. Free meningococcal and seasonal flu vaccines also are available. The clinic will be open from now through the end of the season.

The clinic took advantage of the crowd gathering for the regular Thursday farmers market and then for the free concert by The California Cowboys.
