Accomplishment: Maggie isn't your typical teen. This bubbly cheerleader has been involved in the sport for her whole life, and after four years on the varsity Carondelet team iher dedication has payed off. A captain of cheer this year, Maggie's school involvement extends to chorus as well, which she has been a member of the club since her freshman year.

But her biggest accomplishment isn't either one of these amazing feats. No, the most impressive thing about Maggie is her dedication to making the world a better place. Having traveled to Vietnam last summer for 20 days, Maggie knows how important it is to give back. She was the youngest participant, and helped take vitals and blood pressure from the patients. "I'm going again next summer," says Maggie, noting also that she is "really excited about that".

Future Plans: Maggie hopes to take this experience with her all the way to medical school. "I want to enter into the medical field, and am hoping to go into neurology, to maybe be a neurological physician or surgeon, or something like that," she smiles, adding that she hopes to take some psychology classes along the way.

How Does She Describe Herself?: "I think I'm a very logical person, and I think I'm reasonable," laughs Maggie, "...but I mean at the same time I think I'm positive. I have a pretty positive outlook on life...and I think I'm a very passionate person." And of course she is, as she chased her passions all the way to Vietnam. And she's funny too, as she is "a little sarcastic sometimes."

Advice to Other Students: "I think it's really, really important to be able to balance things, and I think that when you focus your life on one thing...you get overwhelmed and it's just too much. You have to have a really good balance and you have to be able to make time for the people around you. I don't think it's worth it to be a 4.0 student but not be making connections with the people around you," Maggie said."In order to keep your sanity through it all, you have to make time for relationships".
