Weekend Events: Film Fest, "Hairspray" and Veterans Day

The cold crept in this week — find things to do in Central Contra Costa County to keep warm this weekend, from ballroom dance lessons and a Zumbathon to a cozy movie.

By golly, it's gotten cold all of a sudden. Temperatures have dropped into the 50s during the day and 40s at night — and it looks like it's going to stay that way. Friday is expected to be overcast with more ran and maybe even a thunderstorm, Saturday will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain. Fog rolls in during the evening and stays through Sunday morning, when temperatures will warm up by an little to 61 degrees.

So, pull out your scarf collection and don one with pride this weekend, safe in the knowledge that you won't have to frantically unwind it from your neck as soon as you step outdoors. Summer has gone. And this time — it's for real.

Bring on the apple cider and warm up with a dance class, some live music, or a cozy movie.
