The Spookiest House in Concord

This Halloween's scariest house in town belongs to the Gibson family. Check it out:

Most folks will carve a few pumpkins, throw up a few strands of fake web on a couple of bushes somewhere in the front yard when Halloween comes around and call it a day - but not the Gibsons.

Their front yard, which features dozens of custom-made spooky decorations ranging from good ol' tomb stones to zombie-like creatures, carcasses and skeletons - some even hanging upside-down from a tree - is the scariest in town.

Pumpkins, said April Gibson, are not allowed: " ... not scary enough."

David Gibson, April's husband, used a variety of techniques to customize readily-available and usual Halloween decorations into creepier, more detailed and unusual ones that are sure to spook any kid out trick-or-treating Monday night - no-matter how old.

"Halloween is his Christmas," said April.

Among other techniques, David used wire, molten plastic bags and blood-like wood stain to create intricate-looking creatures and disembodied parts for what is most likely Concord's coolest Halloween home decoration. The family spent close to 13 hours setting up on the first day of decorating the yard this year.

If you want to check out the Gibson's yard, their home is on McElroy Court - you won't miss it.
