Switch On the Festive Spirit with Tree Lightings in Concord and Clayton

The cities of Concord and Clayton will light their holiday trees on Saturday, Dec. 1, welcoming December and a season of festive fun.

December arrives this weekend, bringing festive frolicking and holiday hoopla — with bells on top.

Whether you're gearing up for Christmas, Kwanzaa or Hanukkah, or just enjoying the seasonal spirit, let December shine by stopping by the annual tree lighting events in Concord and Clayton. Both flick the switch to make those tree lights glow on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Concord will light up its two trees — the "official" Christmas tree and the tree-in-waiting — between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in Todos Santos Plaza. Santa Claus himself plans to attend and there will carriage rides around the park.
