Skipolini's Fundraiser for Baby Jaxon Who Suffered Near Drowning In May In East Bay

A pizza-dinner fundraiser is planned this Thursday -- June 5 -- at Skipolini's in downtown Concord for baby Jaxon, the infant who nearly drowned in a backyard pool in Concord on May 11.

Little Jaxon is still hospitalized and is going through physical therapy and recovery at Children's Hospital, according to his family. (Updates here on Facebook.)

But the little guy has smiled a few times and used a pacifier while sleeping, which, to medical professionals, means he is regaining and re-learning his sucking reflex.

The pizza fundraiser runs from 5 p.m. to closing and includes pizzas to go. All proceeds will benefit Jaxon and his recovery expenses.

Skipolini's Pizza is located at 2001 Salvio St. in Concord. Telephone: (925) 680-6888.

"Jaxon has a long road to recovery ahead of him," his family writes on his Facebook page Prayers for Jaxon.

"We can't stop, we won't stop until he is 100 percent recovered! Your love and prayers are keep this family strong. Please keep them coming."
