On Tap in Town: Shorty's Revenge, Festbier, Newkie Brown

A note from the editor: I've been waiting for what seems like forever to see Shorty's Revenge back on tap at EJ Phair, and my first pint this week was savored with relish. But I'm also a big fan of a favorite brew from my homeland — Newcastle Brown Ale, which in England is playfully renamed "Newkie Brown". Fortunately, both can be found on tap in Concord.

The weather is persisting with summer-like habits, which means that heavier, Autumnal brews have yet to meet their season. But it looks like temperatures might cool off into the high 70s just in time for Oktoberfest. Next weekend boasts two full days of celebration in Clayton, which includes live music, Bavarian dancers, street performers, a parade, carnivals and, of course — beer.
