Heads Up! Overnight Closures This Week on Hwy 4

Overnight closures are planned on state Highway 4 in Antioch and Oakley this week for construction work on connector ramps between Highway 4 and state Highway 160, according to a spokesman for the project.

Over a mile of westbound Highway 4 between Laurel Road and the Highway 160 on-ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. today to 4 a.m. Wednesday and during the same hours from Wednesday night to Thursday morning, according to Senior Project Engineer Ken Lee.

During the closures, construction crews will work on two new connector ramps - one from westbound Highway 4 to northbound Highway 160 and another between southbound Highway 160 and eastbound Highway 4.

Signs in the area will direct drivers to detour routes during the closures. The new connector ramps are part of ongoing improvements to Highway 4 by the California Department of Transportation and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.

Lee said the ramps should be completed by late 2015.
