A train crash in the Nevada desert Friday morning took the life of a conductor who had lived in Concord for 20 years, the Contra Costa Times reported Sunday.

Lauretta Lee was one of at least six people killed when a big rig plowed into the side of a west-bound Amtrak train about 70 miles east of Reno.

The Times article quotes Lee's union boss calling her a "wonderful human being." Lee last lived in South Lake Tahoe, according to the Times story.
