Cold Snap Heading to Bay Area

by Bay City News

Higher-than-normal temperatures over the Thanksgiving Day holiday will end this week as a cold snap heading for the Bay Area is expected to blanket the region by mid-week, according to the National Weather Service. A drastic drop in temperature is predicted around the Bay Area by Wednesday, with daytime highs and nighttime lows expected to drop up to 15 degrees, forecaster Diana Henderson said.

In San Francisco and around the Bay, overnight lows will be in the low 40s, Henderson said. Daytime highs in Concord will likely be in the low 50s. Overnight lows are likely to be in the high 20s, according to the NWS.  The cold snap is predicted to last for several days into the weekend. Residents in suburban areas should look out for frost on the roadways and protect pets by bringing them inside overnight.
