Camel Cruises Bailey Road in Concord

One vehicle collided with 'Rudy,' but he's fine. Ranch manager says: 'He's hot and his adrenaline's pumping, but he's fine.'

A camel named Rudy got loose on busy Bailey Road in Concord on Tuesday evening.

Rudy escaped earlier in the afternoon, and then broke loose again around 6:45 p.m. and trotted down Bailey Road, where he was hit by a vehicle, Claycord.com reported.

"He's fine. He's hot and his adrenaline's pumping, but he's fine," ranch manager Raymond Ferrante told Examiner.com. "I have never done this before, so I can put (rescuing a camel) on my resume." The ranch is DB Inc. Land & Cattle Co., the Contra Costa Times reported.
