A Concord Neighbor Knows the Homeless

Check out this blog on our sister Patch site in Martinez.

Attention, Patchers: I know some of you just want to read the Concord stories on this site, and that’s fine. There’s plenty for you.

I know others have ties to our adjacent communities so I try to include some good reading from there. (And not just adjacent communities — there’s a brand, spanking new Patch in Berkeley – check it out with the “Change Towns” pulldown at the upper right of the Patch page.)

. It’s a blogger who is a friend of the homeless. Douglas Stewart, through his nonprofit organization Pacheco/Martinez Homeless Outreach, is out there at night, asking homeless people if they need a hand.

He hands out clean socks and blankets to people in need. He knows the names of those living in their cars and those who have no cars in which to live.
