Springtime Music! Diablo Women's Chorale Performs 'Birds & Bees'

Diablo Women’s Chorale presents its spring concert, “The Birds & the Bees: Love of Nature and the Nature of Love”, Sunday, May 18 at 4:30 p.m. at Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek. 

Doors open at 4 p.m. Light reception to follow. Seating is limited. 

Advance tickets are $10 for students, $15 general admission, and $20 for premium seating. They are on sale now at www.diablowomenschorale.org.

Enjoy Latin jazz, folk, Great American Songbook, modern, pop, and Broadway, accompanied by DWC’s jazz combo, the Killer Bees.

“Warble along" during the DWC signature sing-along. The chorus will celebrate the 90th birthday of President Emeritus Lura Osgood by performing "Reflections on the Seasons”, a commissioned work by Rollo Dilworth set to her poetry. DWC is directed by Mary Sorenson and accompanied by pianist Stephen Evans. 

The Diablo Women’s Chorale, founded in 1942, is a diverse group of women from the Bay Area who share a passion for music and fun. 

Recent repertoire has included the music of Aaron Copland, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Gershwin, Sondheim, and James Taylor. American styles of music are emphasized. New members are welcomed in September and January each year. Main concerts are presented in December and May/June.
